07. 05. 2010 Damascus (Syria)

Two awkward, though short flights of Turkish Airlines via Istanbul we have shown again in the fascinating Middle East, namely Syria.

The first impact of the Syrian capital was profound ... we arrived in the middle of the night (about 3.30) in a Friday of the Islamic party ...

The town was already asleep for a long time although occasionally popping out a few "character search of an author" means the tire shop open 24 hours dozing on 24 sank into his chair, the old man wrapped in his brown turban coming up the stairs of an unspecified building, the doors of our historic hotel that has been seen suddenly appear fifteen Italians tried by the laborious and tedious journey ...

As with our bus we walked the streets of the city where the president stood out more and blow I could think of clips from films like "The Bourne Trilogy," "Spy Games", "Syriana" ...
This city is very mysterious and gives me the idea of conspiracies, plots, betrayal ... intrigues me very much ...

Our colonial style hotel is very old, not old, just old and shabby ... someone has called it "disturbing", and indeed those immense rooms (empty), the long corridors at that time of night they gave you the right 'idea of the "scene of a perfect crime" in the Middle East ...
08. 05. 2010 Damascus (Syria)

Morning spent among the memories Greek, Roman, Phoenician immense national museum that, in fact, it struck me so much ...

[Nick]: "On the bus, towards the airport. They seem to have finally found my backpack ... Yesterday was the only one missing bag. The problem is that you not send him to the hotel but you have to inform you your expenses and VISIT at the airport to retrieve it ...

What fascinates me, after several trips to this part of the world, and observe their life passing by, drink orange juice and getting lost among the scents of spices ... "
09. 05. 2010 Damascus (Syria)

[Nick]: "Today we visit Bosra, Nabatean city dating back to the time of Petra, and which is only 100 km. In Syria, the monuments are not valued, indeed the same Bosra was inhabited by the Syrians until a couple of years ago ...
Bozrah Shabba to see some mosaics and soon after we move at a time of Sayyida Zeinab Mosque, dedicated to a relative of Muhammad ...
Inside the mosque there was an Arab who asked some women in black chador to repent for the deaths of Hassan, the grandson of Ali (???) like crying ... and ...
From there we move to the Chapel of St. Paul and then we take the opportunity to wander around inside the suq drinking a refreshing orange juice.
